Does Reshaped Gaming use AI?

There was a time when we, like many others, explored and utilized this emerging technology for ourselves. We were drawn to its novelty, but have since changed our stance on the use of GenAI and LLMs. Continue reading to learn more about why Reshaped Gaming does not use generative artificial intelligence in our products.

We admit to curiosity at first, having generated images like this one…

Prior to this writing (December 12th, 2025), Reshaped Gaming was using a small handful of AI-generated images (5) throughout its website, as well as blurbs of AI-generated text.

As of today, we have replaced all AI-generated texts and images, except for the one above, which now serves as a reminder of our commitment to “the roll that matters”.

The Roll That Matters

When I was in my senior year of high school, I was a very smart, very ignorant white male with a lot to learn about the rest of the world. I was somewhat of a prodigy in my class, building and programming robots with self-taught knowledge, writing websites from scratch for school clubs, publishing apps to the Google Play Store… it was no surprise to anyone that I was going off to college to study Computer Science and make my mark on AI after graduating as a valedictorian. I even developed my own interpretive programming language in my first two years while getting paid to research programming language theory. I thought I knew exactly what my life was going to look like and where I would end up. But then COVID happened…

And honestly, I don’t know how best to sum it up. Over the next 2-3ish years that we were under quarantine, I came to terms with my divergent sexuality, cut ties with my family and most of my friends, dropped out of college, ran away to the city, and learned more about myself than I’d ever before. I spent a year working on who I was, immersing myself in other cultures, and developing a love for all people. I’ve since abandoned many of my tech-related aspirations in favor of advancing community and representation instead. I’ve done what I can to be anti-hate in all forms, and continue to pursue these ideals every day.

With my history… It was hard to deny the calls of artificial intelligence that have surfaced in recent times. This was something I always thought I would contribute to, so naturally, I experimented with ChatGPT and related software for quite some time. I think these technologies are incredible and interesting, with a lot of potential to fill many roles. But as more news comes out about the impact these programs have on the environment, about the immeasurable theft that has occurred to build them, and about the risks being posed to vulnerable and/or impressionable communities… it has become harder for me to ignore the greatest lesson I’ve learned as an adult: intent and impact are separate, and we are more responsible for our impact than we deserve credit for our intentions.

I believe people are responsible for how they show up in life, and I believe GenAI causes more harm than good. As a result, Reshaped Gaming refuses to further engage in trends or behavior that contribute to AI’s dominating presence in art and media. We know it’s a gamble to push back against the mainstream, but we believe the roll that matters centers humanity, not progress.

We want to roll that die, not the one you saw above. Creativity belongs to life, and we hope you agree.
